ADVISORY NOTE ON THE 2019-NOVEL CORONAVIRUS SITUATION |
|||
The Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2020 will be held as planned from 5 – 9 July 2020. The organiser of SIWW and its Event Organiser are closely monitoring the situation in Singapore arising from the 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak. To handle the 2019-nCoV situation, the Government of Singapore has responded swiftly to set up a high-level, multi-ministerial task force to coordinate a whole of government response. Temperature screening at immigration facilities and travel restrictions have been implemented to minimise the risk of imported cases from overseas. A robust surveillance system is in place to swiftly identify cases, and healthcare systems in Singapore are on heightened alert and stand ready to deal effectively with cases as they emerge. The safety and well-being of our exhibitors, sponsors, delegates and trade attendees as well as our staff are our top priority. We are working closely with Marina Bay Sands, which is the venue for SIWW 2020, and local authorities to ensure that comprehensive precautionary and containment measures are properly planned for and will be put in place during the event to safeguard the health and safety of our participants. We will continue to monitor the 2019-nCoV situation closely and stay guided by local authorities such as Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) to implement all necessary precautionary measures in the lead up to, and during SIWW 2020. The current guidelines and measures can be found at the MOH website. [1] We will continue to stay vigilant and stand ready to implement enhanced measures should the situation require it. We remain confident that Singapore will be a safe place for attendees to participate in SIWW 2020. Should you require any further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to email us at info@siww.com.sg.
